Kish Island, prime halal tourism spot

Kish Island in Southern Iran is one of the best spots for halal tourism in the Muslim world.

There are now some 40 luxury hotels on the island with four or five stars, and modern malls are everywhere, all serving halal-designated foods for locals as well as tourists to the island.

Kish already attracts some 1.8 million visitors per year, mostly from the Iranian capital, Tehran.

Halal, an Arabic word defined as permissible according to Islamic law, is required in the consumption of both goods and services for Muslims.

The halal industry is a rapidly expanding sector not only in the food and beverage market but also in many other markets including cosmetics and healthcare.

The Persian Gulf island, which is part of the Iranian Province of Hormozgan, serves as a unique resort destination for foreigners as well, serving large expases of natural turquoise waters and coral reefs.

Kish’s sandy beaches, unique aquatic life and first-class man-made leisure venues enjoy sun that shines all year round. The island’s facilities include a recreational jetty, glass-bottomed boats, motorboats and scuba diving, which all provide tourists with plenty of entertainment.

Iran's Kish Island contains one of the most interesting spots in the country that attracts many local and foreign visitors over the year.
